We also employ at various times within the practice: an assistant doctor or locum doctors to cover holidays and sickness.

Patients can express a reasonable preference as to which practitioner they would like to see and the practice will endeavour to comply with any request.

Although not directly employed by the Practice our team also includes: District Nurses, Midwife, and Physiotherapist.

As part of our PCN we also have additional staff which include: Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technicians, Nurse Associate, Social Prescribing Link Worker, Paramedic & Advanced Clinical Practitioners for our Home Visiting Service.

Training practice

The partnership operates as a teaching practice and we have a doctor attached to the practice for 6 months as part of their general practice training.

We teach qualified doctors to be GP’s as part of their medical training. The Registrars sit in with the General Practitioners and nurses. Please say if you do not want a Registrar present at your consultation.

GP net earnings

All GP practices are required to declare the mean (e.g average pay) for GP’s to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GPs working in Crown Street Surgery in 2021/22 was £58,872 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 1 full time GP, 2 part time GP and 6 locum GP’s who worked in the practice for more than six months.
